The Data Consulting Practice is responsible for building modern and innovative technology services which enable our customers to successfully deliver value from data. Currently, the Practice focuses on four data technology domains:
- Data strategy & governance: How to deliver a structured approach to build and operate data and analytics platforms which are linked to an organization’s business strategy?
- Data management: How to govern and manage data more efficiently, enabling organizations to achieve better business outcomes? How to optimize existing data platform architectures and technology designs to improve technical and cost performance?
- Data consumption: How to enable visual data communication in organizations and realize value from data through actionable insights which deliver value
Roles & responsibilities
- Be a trusted thought leader for business data stewards, technical data stewards, domain data stewards and/or Chief Data Officers.
- Develop metadata strategy and data governance frameworks tailored to customer’s needs and strategy but aligned with industry best practices.
- Help customers establish required operating model for driving governance of data and metadata while providing guidelines related to practices, policies, and standards both at a technical and functional level.
- Liaise with information security teams, business data stewards, and data quality teams to define priorities and roadmaps for managing and mitigating risks related to data security and data privacy.
- Drive upskilling and adoption initiatives within customer organizations.
- Help build self-help materials and templates for customers.
- Identify and define opportunities for automating data governance and data cataloguing processes.
- Collaborate with Lingaro’s technology and delivery teams across different timezones for implementation of data management and governance solutions.
- Keep the practice at the forefront of Data Management and Governance Consulting (by interacting with the ecosystem, attending conferences, getting certifications, interactions with external advisors, reading articles) .
- Assess and apply the latest developments in data management and standards.
- High learning agility demonstrating willingness to learn and apply other skills and technologies.
Qualifications
- 10-15 years of experience in metadata management and data governance practices, systems and processes.
- 3+ years of experience in consulting roles leading data governance initiatives
- Certifications in Alation, Atlan
- Rich experience in Databricks Unity Catalog or MS Purview
- Proven hands-on experience in one or more of the above tools, including data cataloging, lineage mapping, and data governance.
- Experience in installation, configuration, administration of Data Catalog both cloud hosted and SaaS.
- Experience in Integration of Data Catalog with cloud and on-prem data sources.
- Building accelerators on top of off-the-shelf Data Catalogs using available SDK/API.
- Deep understanding of frameworks such as DAMA, DCAM, and any relevant certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any quantitative discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to work with CXOs and senior business leaders in defining data governance roadmaps.
- Ability to clearly articulate, influence, and thought partner with senior business leaders.
- Deep Understanding of modern concepts as Data Catalog 3.0 / Active Metadata, Data Observability, Data Fabric and Data Mesh
- Exposure to driving data governance maturity assessment initiatives.
- Understanding of modern technology trends in data management and data stacks in data management and governance including but not necessarily limited to the above tools.
- Experience in running customer workshops and other collaboration sessions to discover customer priorities, understand current state, and determine maturity/readiness to execute on enterprise Data Management & Governance vision.
- Experience in automation of workflows using tools like Power Automate
Good to have:
- MS Fabric certification
- Engineering experience on Databricks
- Programming skill in Python, C#, JavaScript or similar
- Technology expertise with any other data management tools
- Experience in metadata migration projects
- Experience building metadata driven data pipeline automations
- Knowledge of other data management services on Azure, GCP, or AWS like GCP Dataplex, Snowflake, Synapse, Purview
- Experience in FMCG or Healthcare industry.
- Knowledge of industry specific data security practices and regulations.
- Experience in Data Quality or Master Data Management.
