The Finance Manager oversees the day-to-day accounting functions to ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance with Philippine regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting the organization’s financial health.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Financial Reporting 

  •  Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations are completed on time.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data and resolve discrepancies before finalizing reports.
  • Prepare/review accurate and timely financial statements, reports and reconciliations in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve journal entries and financial reports to ensure integrity of financial records.
  • Provide management with financial insights, trends, and risk analysis to support strategic decision-making.

2. Accounting Operations

  • Supervise core accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Payroll, and General Ledger (GL).
  • Ensure that transactions are recorded promptly and accurately, and that supporting documentation is complete and compliant with internal policies and government regulations.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure accuracy.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure that customer receivables are collected on time.

3. Internal Controls and Risk Management

  • Design, implement, and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud or misstatements.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of accounting procedures and recommend enhancements to strengthen controls.
  • Ensure segregation of duties and compliance with audit standards.

4. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Preparate of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Track actual performance against budgets, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation of cost-saving initiatives and financial strategies to improve profitability.

5. Regulatory Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure strict adherence to Philippine tax laws, including VAT, income tax, withholding tax and other statutory obligations.

  • Maintain compliance with internal corporate policies and external financial reporting standards such as PFRS (Philippine Financial Reporting Standards).

  • Stay updated on changes in government regulations and assess their impact on business operations.

6. Audit Coordination and Management

  • Liaise with external auditors to facilitate annual financial audits, ensuring timely submission of required documents and schedules.
  •  Prepare/review audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to streamline the audit process.
  • Act as the primary point of contact during audit engagements, addressing queries and clarifying financial data.
  • Analyze audit findings and collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective actions.
  • Develop internal controls and process improvements to prevent recurrence of audit issues.
  • Document and track resolution progress to ensure accountability and transparency. 

7. Regulatory Compliance and Tax Management 

  • Ensures accuracy and timely submission of all BIR filings (VAT, income tax, withholding tax, etc)

  • Maintains audit-ready documentation and supports internal and external audits.

  • Interprets tax and regulatory updates and ensures company compliance with current government requirements.

  • Manage Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) audits, including Letter of Authority (LOA) and Tax Verification Notices.

  • Ensure audit findings are properly addressed and, when necessary, formally protested through submission of supporting documentation and legal rulings/regulations.

  • Coordinate with tax consultant or legal counsel for complex tax issues or disputes.

8. PEZA Compliance 

  • Oversee compliance with Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) requirements for registered enterprises, including submission of monthly and annual reports, asset movements, and import/export documentation as deemed applicable.

  • Ensure timely filing of PEZA related statutory reports such as Annual ITR, VAT returns and compliance certifications.

  • Maintain good standing with PEZA to preserve tax incentives and operation privileges.

9. SEC Compliance

  •  Ensure timely submission of required SEC reports such as the Audited Financial Statements (AFS) and General   Information Sheet (GIS).

10. Team Leadership and Development

  • Manages, coaches and evaluates the accounting and admin team.

  • Builds a finance and admin team culture centered on accountability, accuracy, proactiveness and business insight.

11. Others

  • Oversee Administrative office functions.

  • Coordinate with Company Legal Counsel on matters related to corporate housekeeping, annual stockholders meetings, minutes of the meetings, etc.

  • Assist in the planning, scheduling and execution of Annual Stockholders’

  • Meeting in accordance with corporate and legal requirements.

  • Disseminate notices of meetings and proxy forms to shareholders.

  • Assist in responding to legal or compliance inquiries and audits.

  • Other adhoc.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/CPA
  • 10+ years of related experience, with Public Accounting and IT/PEZA registered industry experience being a plus
  • Proactive, creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Responsible, hands-on and able to multi-task.
  • Proficient with MS office applications and Quickbooks
  • Analytical and organization skills, meticulous and attention to detail
  • In-depth knowledge with BIR and PEZA regulations. Ability to interact with external examiners, i.e. BIR, LGU, PEZA.
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidentiality, high integrity and trustworthiness.
